Empowering Displaced Women & Girls in IDP Camps

Considering the plight of the Internally Displaced Persons IDPs living in various camps in Nigeria, the COFP Foundation has made it a point of duty to organize skill acquisition empowerment program for the IDP women and girls annually. Thus, in March, September & October 2018, the COFP empowered over 150 less privileged internally displaced women & girls in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State, Yola in Adamawa State and Durumi in FCT Abuja received skills acquisition training in bakery/pastries, jewellery/beadmaking and industrial production. The empowerment training was organized to build the capacities of these women so that they will be able to fend for themselves and their families as well as become self-reliant economically. Each of these women was given starter packs and graduation certificate after a one-week training to enable them set up their own business without hitches.
