The Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace (COFP) announces its Call for Fellowship Applications for the 2025/2026 cohort. This opportunity is ideal for individuals and organizations seeking comprehensive training and capacity to become skilled peacebuilders. Initiated in 2018, the COFP Fellowship program has successfully equipped over 281 individuals from 16 African countries.
Participants are trained in dialogue negotiation, conflict management, ethical leadership, freedom of religion, and community peacebuilding, fostering a culture of sustainable development.
The program, uniquely crafted in the African context by Africans and for Africans living and working in Africa., is structured into three modules, allowing Fellows to convene quarterly for one-week in-person training sessions over a year. Towards completion, Fellows receive a small seed grant to implement a peace project in their community. Upon graduation, participants are awarded University Certificates during the final module which gain them entry into the COFP Africa Network of Peacebuilders (CANEP).
The COFP Fellowship program is free of charge, on condition that participants cover their transportation to Abuja, Nigeria, for three sessions during the Fellowship period. To apply for the 2024/2025 COFP Fellowship Program, please visit cofpfoundation.org/application.
