Induction and Graduation of the Class of 2025 COFP Fellows

As the impact of our Fellowship continue to surge, on May 17, 2025, the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace (COFP) celebrated the graduation of the 7th set of her Fellowship at Ajuji Greenwich hotel, Abuja following the completion of their module three courses. Meanwhile, the induction of these 45 Fellows into the COFP Africa Network of Peacebuilders (CANEP), took place a day earlier and brough together many COFP Alumni for their Annual General Assembly (AGM). In a welcome remark, the Executive Director of COFP, Rev. Sr. Agatha Chikelue, DMMM, called for a more vibrant CANEP, one that can stand the test of time by becoming a unifying factor for the Fellows even beyond the Fellowship period. With the passing on of the CANEP Vice President, late Hajiya Mrs. Sureya Roble Ali who hails from Kenya, a new Vice President, Hameedat Abdusallam was appointed to replace her. Daret Timothy was also appointed the new Secretary General of CANEP as the remaining positions remain unchanged.

Similarly, the 2025 Rex Peace award went to Sr. Martina Taiwo Akande for an outstanding community peace project that she carried out. For the first time, more than 2,000 applications were received from different parts of the world during the call for the 2025/2026 COFP Fellowship Application, an indication that the program is now making a global impact.
