In July 2022, the famous COFP Fellowship Program with remarkable positive impacts, launched its International COFP Fellows from ten African countries: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Somalia, South Africa & Zambia. The Program which was in its fourth year at this time educates and builds the capacity of faith/community leaders, educators and local actors from multireligious/cultural backgrounds in Africa. The participants receive training in dialogue facilitation, conflict transformation, mediation and leadership by COFP’s experts. The program equips COFP Fellows with the needed skills for advocating and building culture of peace in their various communities.
The 2022/2023 cohort of COFP Fellows which is the 5th set of the Fellowship Program with the total number of 63 Nigerians and foreigners kicked off another one-year Fellowship program with module one from 31st July – 7th August, 2022. Over 494 applications were received for the program while about 50 applications came from foreigners from different parts of Africa. The current cohort is the Second International COFP Fellowship Program with 13 foreign Fellows from various countries in Africa including: Sudan, Tchad, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Ghana, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Liberia. The diverse background of the group is so amazing that it has made learning in conflict management and peacebuilding more conducive and interesting both during the modules 1, 2 and 3 of the Fellowship program with ripple effects of community engagements in peace and human development.
