Strengthening Peace, Championing Development
Understanding the Challenge
Peace is the foundation of a successful and prosperous society. However, communal, sectarian, and religious crises not only claim lives but also destroy entire communities. These conflicts force people from their homes, turning homeowners into Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees. The insurgency in northeastern Nigeria and other regions has worsened poverty, heightened fear, and increased insecurity and social tension.
The Need for a Paradigm Shift
The impact of these conflicts goes beyond physical destruction—it disrupts livelihoods, education, and economic stability. To break this cycle, we must shift from short-term relief efforts to long-term community development. Sustainable peace requires empowering individuals with the tools they need to rebuild their lives, ensuring that vulnerable groups—especially women, children, and those in rural communities—are given opportunities to thrive.
Our Approach
At COFP, we drive community-led initiatives for lasting stability and development. We empower vulnerable women and girls in IDP and refugee camps with skills and resources to escape poverty. Through scholarships and financial aid, we ensure children in marginalized communities have access to education. We also advocate against child violence and abuse, creating safer spaces for their growth. Additionally, we champion climate action to rejuvenate the environment and protect at-risk communities.
Empowering for Change
Sustainable peace is not just about resolving conflict—it’s about creating opportunities for people to build better lives. By focusing on empowerment, education, child protection, and climate action, we help communities recover and thrive. Working together with our partners, we are committed to building a safer, more inclusive, and prosperous future for all.
