COFP Leaders Present in Mauritius

His Eminence, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, and the Foundation’s Executive Director, Sr. Agatha Chikelue, participated in the 2026 Religions for Peace International Council Meeting, held in Mauritius from the 23rd to the 25th of June 2026. With the theme “Forging Pathways for Shared Sacred Flourishing”, the meeting convened religious leaders from various parts of the world to strengthen interreligious collaboration and respond collectively to today’s global challenges as it prepares for its 11th World Assembly in 2027.

The gathering provided an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, share perspectives, and engage in dialogue on issues affecting peace and human dignity, including armed conflict, increasing polarization, artificial intelligence, and environmental sustainability. The participation of COFP’s founder and Executive Director in this high-level gathering reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to working alongside global faith leaders to advance peace through dialogue and cooperation across religious and cultural divides.
