In continuation of her annual tradition of honouring its Founder and President, His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, CON, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday, the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace (COFP), led by the Executive Director, Rev. Sr. Agatha Chikelue, DMMM, paid a courtesy visit to him on 30th January 2026 at his Domus Pacis (Home of Peace) residence, Asokoro, Abuja. The visit provided an opportunity to brief His Eminence on the Foundation’s recent milestones, share updates on its programs, seek his strategic counsel on advancing COFP’s mission and receive his pastoral guidance for the work ahead. Moderated by the Deputy Director, Rev. Fr. Boniface Neibo, the interactive session enabled staff to highlight their respective roles and reflect on the Foundation’s achievements, priorities and emerging opportunities.

His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan warmly received the entire team of staff and commended the team’s continual commitment to promoting peace, dialogue and religious tolerance. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in advancing the Foundation’s mission and also remarked on how he has continued to receive commendations from all corners across Africa and the world in acknowledgement of COFP’s growing impact, describing these affirmations as indicators of the Foundation’s commitment to service. The visit was concluded with a eucharistic celebration during which His Eminence imparted blessings upon the Foundation and members of staff followed by a shared lunch, reaffirming the enduring bond between the Foundation and its visionary founder.
