It is disheartening to note that despite the fact that about 71% of the surface of the earth is covered by water, there is still water shortage in the world. This is more problematic in sub-Sahara Africa. According to Andrew Slaughter of University of Saskatchewan in 2017, only 67% of the world’s population have basic water supply with an uneven access. In the cities, 82% have a basic supply and in the rural areas only 54% do.
