After a rigorous selection process, another set of Fellows, 50 in all, were selected from the many individuals who applied for the 2023/2024 COFP Fellowship program. The first module of the 6th annual and 3rd Continental COFP Fellowship Program, commenced with the arrival of Fellows on Sunday, 23rd July, 2023, at the Ajuji Greenwich hotel, Abuja, and spanned through the entire week. The participants were made up of Christians and Muslims men, women and youth.
The 2023/2024 Fellowship program as usual was ushered in with a grand opening dinner ceremony for participants who had come from six countries across Africa including Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria. His Eminence, John Cardinal Onaiyekan in his speech, expressed so much joy on how much the COFP Foundation, from inception till date has been able to achieve its objective of equipping middle level religious leaders at grassroots with the knowledge and skills for interreligious dialogue and mutual understanding for peace building and social cohesion. A remarkable highlight of the Fellowship dinner was the presentation of the Fellows.
After the completion of the module one courses, the second module of the Fellowship program commenced from November 26th to December 3rd, 2023. The main objective of this module was to provide a solid foundation in dialogue negotiation and conflict management. Participating in this module, equipped the Fellows with the skills necessary to design and implement peace projects tailored to their respective communities and address their local context.
