Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace sees the basic rights of every child especially that of quality education as a priority. This is as a result of the high rate of school dropout and the inability to access good education by children in rural poor communities in Nigeria. The Foundation through its Scholarship award program ensures that the right for basic education for every child living in the rural neglected areas of the country is upheld.
Below is the breakdown of students who have benefited from our scholarship program slated for September 2019 – August 2020 Academic Year. Beneficiaries of the COFP scholarship program include 45 pupils from seven primary schools and 12 students from five Junior Secondary Schools. These students have been enjoying the scholarship program since their enrollment in school.
The Principals, Head Teachers, and Parents of the beneficiaries appreciated the Foundation for her kind gestures in remembering the less privileged who also have the right to education but not access it until COFP took the responsibility for their education.
