Hajya Halimat Jibril is a Muslim from Minna, Niger State. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Amadu bellow University, Zaria. She has done some coursework in Project Management and MPA at the University of Liverpool and Institute of Administration in Kongo Zaria respectively. Hajya Halima worked with the Niger State Civil Service and retired as Director of Program services at Radio Niger after thirty years of service. She has also worked as the program secretary with the European Economic Commission/FGN/Middle belt program and was the Normadic Education Consultant in Bauchi State. Hajya Halima was a participant at the CEDPA/USAID training on Gender and Development in Abeokuta in 2003 and has been very active in UNICEF projects in Nigeria. She coordinated the FGN/DFID/UNICEF Girls’ Education Project Phase 1 in Katsina State as the State GEP Coordinator and later on re-engaged with UNICEF as State Project Coordinator in Bauchi State under GEP Phase 2. She is the current National President of the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN).
Hajya Halima loves reading, writing and travelling as well as working for women and children. She hopes to learn peacebuilding skills that will enhance her work effectively. She also plans to step-down this training to ensure that skills acquired from the Fellowship Program are used to enhance peace-building in various communities in the country. Hajya Halima has the intention of advising FOMWAN to consider developing interfaith programs on dialogue for women and the youth.
