Olurotimi Saheed Timehin is from Lagos State. He is a Doctor of Arabic Studies, has Masters in Arabic and Islamic Studies, and a Bachelor Degree in Arabic language and Literature, all from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His professional and interfaith works has taken him round the country and beyond with certificates, awards and a barrage of research works and publications to his honour. As an Ahmadiyya Muslim, he has held several leadership positions with different religious and interfaith bodies including Co-Chairman of the Nigeria Inter Religious Council, Lagos State Chapter and Secretary of Al-Hadara in LASU, and is currently the National Preaching Coordinator of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at, Nigeria with about two decades of experience in interreligious field.
As an Islamic preaching coordinator and with the experiences from the Fullbright Interfaith Fellowship in 2007, Timehin has been committed to orientating Muslim missionaries towards accepting the reality of the ‘other’ in practical terms so that they will be able to collaborate with the ethnic and religious ‘other’ for peace and stability in the Nigerian society. He hopes to update his knowledge and equip himself with relevant knowledge and skills through the fellowship program in order to enrich the curriculum of his missionary retreats, mediate and resolve both intra and interreligious conflicts and pass same to his students and missionary groups. Timehin is a creative writer, a public speaker and loves reading and traveling.
