Yassin Maisikeli Garba hails from Kano State. He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Engineering from the Southern College of Technology, G.A., U.S.A. and a Diploma in Electronic/Communications Engineering from the Kano State Polytechnic. As an Engineer, he is also an IT consultant who specializes in security systems, document management systems, communication systems, network & database design & development. He is a Sunni (Sufi) Muslim and currently a member, Central Working Committee, Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development, as well as member, the Advisor (Science and technology), and Project Coordinator (Environment) of Qadiriyyah Sufi Movement in Nigeria.
Yassin is convinced that Interreligious dialogue and mediation are the panacea for the promotion of peace between divergent faith groups and has the quest for intra and interreligious peace and harmony. He hopes to build his capacity in interreligious works through the Fellowship Program and apply same through practical demonstration and dissemination of the learnt skills via public lectures, publications, seminars and media, etc. He loves reading and writing, with many publications to his name. He enjoys space science, poetry, calligraphy, music, gardening, conservation and travels.
